Last Saturday I went up to London to spend the day with my best friend, whilst I was there I was lucky enough to go and see her in the preview of 'Femmetamorphosis' at the Bread and Roses in Clapham. I'd interviewed the cast and the director beforehand so it was really cool to see them all in person and get to watch the show!

'Femmetamorphosis' is presented by the Elicit Theatre Company and written and directed by Sharron Spice. The production centres on a group of women at a lingerie party, each character is very different but the characters develop nicely throughout the production meaning that you see a deeper side to all of them at some point.

A lingerie party sets a nice backdrop to the show, there are so many things that can happen at such an event that I didn't know what to expect from the production itself. It was great to see such different personalities within the characters sharing the stage. The stage itself was cosy with an intimate sitting room style arrangement and a backdrop of a fireplace, the lighting was warm and it added to the real and authentic feel of the whole performance.

The humour was quick, clipped and perfectly timed, the characters played off of each other and I found that I really bought in to the relationships being created on stage. Each of the cast members brought something really fresh to the production and the characters that they were portraying, everyone was being their own person and the stage was electric with the energy that they all brought to the performance.

The next stop for the cast of 'Femmetamorphosis' is the Ambition Festival in East Croydon, followed closely by a run at Edinburgh Fringe from 6th - 31st August. I recommend going to see it for yourself, it'll make for a nice evening of light hearted fun and you won't regret it.
