Lost in Transit | Brighton Fringe

5/23/2015

If you head to the Brighton Spiegeltent before the 24th May you can expect to disappear down a rabbit hole into the whimsical, cheeky, dreamlike world of Lost in Transit, and you'll never want to leave.

After amazing and stunning the audiences at last year's festival it has returned for 2015 even better than ever! Chris Cresswell directs with a feverish, hilarious energy as well as darting around the stage between acts as an irritable lost property collector barking orders at the audience and swatting at any cast member who might be in reach.

Lost in Transit follows a young French traveller - Marion Duprez - as she navigates her way through missing passports, stolen luggage, an impromptu station platform revolution and a hilarious group of ticket collectors and platform staff. Aerialists and contortionists visit her in her dreams as she fights through the obstacles between her and her final destination.

It is completely breathtaking from start to finish and Vicki McManus, aerial director, has created a series of truly mesmerising aerial performances, starting with her own - a pure, wistful and completely stunning aerial silks routine and ending in a cheeky, fiery static trapeze number from ex-Cirque Du Soleil performer Michaela O'Connor.

With each moment filled with music, laughter and fun the two hours fly by, but Lost in Transit is absolutely something I would revisit time and time again if the Spiegeltent was a year-round attraction.

I recommend a trip to the Spiegeltent for Lost in Transit if you are in Brighton for the bank holiday - you will not be disappointed and it will give you a couple of hours inside the magical minds of some truly amazing artists.
