A Poem: Compagnies Républicaines de Sécurité

Two years ago today the Calais jungle was demolished. Children, that myself and a team of The Hummingbird Project volunteers, had been working with for months were displaced all over France and the problem didn't end there. In the two years since the bulldozers came in and destroyed the small sense of home and the huge sense of community that had been built in The Jungle, children all over Europe have continued to be failed as they arrived on shores up and down the continent desperate for safety and a chance at a new life.

I have been waiting four months to write this, it took me that long to find the right words to describe how I feel, but finally I think I know what I want to say. 

Tea Talk | Holly Smale

I had planned to do a Tea Talk every Sunday, but seriously, when does my blog ever run to it's schedule? Last week was busy with Halloweek and then I ran out of time and camera battery (story of my life) so my Holly Smale post is here a few days late, but at least it's here!

Halloweek | Day Six | Pumpkin Carving Fun

I decided it was probably time to do a Halloweek post that didn't involve cupcakes or icing - I love carving pumpkins so me and my sister decided to have a Halloweve pumpkin carving and watching Hocus Pocus.

Halloweek | Day Five | Marshmallow Ghost Cupcakes

For day five of Halloweek I'm bringing another recipe to the table - day four was supposed to be different makeup styles but there was a photography issue - the issue being I didn't take any photos so you're stuck with cake. This time we have chocolate Marshmallow Ghost cupcakes and they are pretty great.
